Sailing 'Round = sterilization resources

The Quick Home buttons at the beginning of each section on this page will bring you to the safer, travel facade of this blog.

This page will be home to resources regarding sterilization. There will likely be overlap in some resources, but they'll all be worth double-checking in case if there's a more suitable provider for you.

On an observational note, please keep in mind that if a resource claims a blanket statement (such as, "every provider here will provide sterilization, no questions asked"), take it with a grain of salt. Each provider is a different person, part of a different practice, dealing with different insurance companies.

It is also advisable to do as much research as possible on your preferred sterilization method before meeting with your provider, both for your own knowledge and to also demonstrate to your provider that this is something you have put significant thought into this decision in the event that you are "bingo'd." Of course, if you do not feel comfortable with a particular provider, please find another that you are comfortable with.

Sterilization Resources

Quick Home

The Pink Book - NOTE: Site is currently down, we're awaiting a response from its author. The Pink Book is what inspired the creation of this blog. From their site: "A directory of women and LGBT-safe healthcare practitioners in the United States."

  • Home to lists of providers who handle abortion, birth control, menstrual healthcare, sterilization, LGBT healthcare, S.A.N.E. exams, and more
  • Breaks down search results by location, services provided, and can even sort by price point
r/childfree Doctors List - A large, crowd-sourced list of providers who are childfree-friendly, meaning they are more likely to provide sterilization procedures or provide other long-term birth control options than other providers. Please keep in mind that there is no guarantee that one of these providers will approve you for a sterilization procedure, but it is a great place to start
  • Each doctor on this list has promoted at least one person's decision to be childfree, or else they would not have been included on the list
  • Provides international resources
  • Contains other helpful resources, such as how to talk to your doctor about sterilization, resources about how different procedures are performed, and more
