Daring Survival Advice = domestic abuse and sexual assault survivor resources
The Quick Home buttons at the beginning of each section on this page will bring you to the safer, travel facade of this blog.
This page will host resources for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Contrary to what you might have heard, ANYONE of any gender can be a victim of domestic or sexual abuse, by a perpetrator of any gender. Regardless of the dynamics of the abuse, abuse is always wrong, though it's not uncommon for the victim to not realize that they are currently in an abusive situation or that they experienced an abusive situation in the past.
For tips on how to safely research these topics, including how to clear your search history or finding a safe computer, see the Leave Only Footprints page.
The top mention for this list is the Aspire News app, which is very discreet, can notify trusted people that you are in danger, and contains a plethora of resources to help you out. While it is not a substitute for emergency services, I highly recommend downloading it if you feel you may be getting into a potentially dangerous situation, AND, most importantly, ONLY if you feel safe enough downloading it. It is of course possible that abusers know about any or all of the resources listed on this blog, and only you know the specifics of your exact situation.
Apps
Aspire News - Another inspiration for this blog, the Aspire News app is a safety resource disguised as a news app. Enter in the contact info of people you trust and you can discreetly alert them that you are in danger by tapping the news banner three times. This is a fully-functional news app, and you have to look very carefully through the Settings in order to find the safety features if you don't know they're there. It also contains a wide variety of resources that can help you out, as well as safety advice for yourself or others who wish to educate themselves on domestic and sexual abuse
- Very discreet, extra resources and your trusted contacts are well-hidden form those who don't know what they're looking for
- Easily notify your trusted contacts that you need help by tapping the banner of any article three times
- Contains real, current articles about world news, sports, and entertainment news from your choice of news provider (Yahoo! is the default) to make the app fit more to your tastes and thus seem less out of place
- Available for iPhone and Android
- This app is NOT a substitute for emergency services, and if you are in a potentially dangerous or deadly situation, dial 911 or your local equivalent
- Please note that some services from Break the Cycle are for the ages of 12-24 only, but has also has other resources for everyone else

- Vast amount of resources for very specific situations. If you feel safe enough to do so, please search through the site
